Olly Oils was founded by Philip Thomason and is based in the heart of Shropshire.
Our experts seek-out cold pressed oils that have a taste and aroma that’s second–to–none - making them the perfect choice for chefs at home and in professional kitchens.
Rather than just choose any oil, we select our oils on a number of criteria that include the taste, aroma and purity. Some regions / areas of the world are better suited to growing particular crops and these form part of our selection process.
Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavour, aroma and nutritional value, making them great for all cooking requirements - a tasty and healthy replacement for butter and oils in savoury, salads, sweet recipes, dips and smoothies.
Available in a range of sizes, from 250ml bottles up to 20 litre cans, we cater for home, commercial kitchens, speciality food deli’s and food wholesalers.
Why Cold Pressed Oils?
Unlike the mass-produced oils commonly found in supermarkets, we don't use chemical solvents to extract our oils.
Although pressing produces heat through friction, the temperature does not rise above 45 degrees Celsius, and consequently the oil is considered cold pressed - in contrast to large scale solvent extraction and refining operations which strip the oil of natural antioxidents, vitamins and flavour. The solvent extraction method is used to produce most common cooking oils found in supermarkets.
Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavour, aroma, and nutritional value, making them great for all cooking and skin care requirements. They contain zero grams of trans fatty acids and are naturally cholesterol-free.
It is important to note that both solvent extracted and cold pressed oils can be used in cosmetics and skin care, but only cold pressed will deliver goodness to the skin.
Cold pressed oils are superior health products as the natural nutritional properties are not affected or denatured.
